Alcée Montfort, founder
After gaining invaluable experience with prestigious brands such as Hermès, Cartier and Tag Heuer, Alcée was keen to share her passion for excellent craftsmanship. This passion is fulfilled through handcrafted creations. This passion is realized through the design of handcrafted works, an approach that allows her to take the time to connect with her childhood dreams, and to experience deep satisfaction in contemplating the meticulously crafted object. This is how she came to create Maison Alcée.
Alcée's role is to bring together a team of unrivalled expertise, thanks to the specific skills of each watchmaking expert. The result is a singular experience to enjoy and share with your loved ones.

The expert in watchmaking mechanics
Benoit Montfort, founder
Benoît has a keen eye for anything to do with fine mechanical engineering and bodywork, and he's an old hand at that. He even arrived in a 2CV on his first day as an engineer at his automotive company.
Although not an expert watchmaker per se, Benoît's skills as a mechanic set him apart. He passes on his energy to give a second life to all the objects he comes into contact with, from the repair of his MAC to his vintage Peugeot tandem.
Benoît coordinates the creation of the Persée so that you can build your own timepiece. He is our orchestra conductor, masterfully coordinating our 30 or so manufacturing partners and our team of experts.

Thierry Ducret, Meilleur Ouvrier de France
"My grandfather, a watchmaker, ran a workshop in Belleville s/Saône; despite the interest in his work, small children were forbidden to enter his workspace. It was only when he passed away that I was allowed in: at that point, there was no doubt about it, I wanted to become an expert watchmaker!
Despite decades of experience, I'm still as passionate as ever! It's one of the few professions where you spend hours and days working on parts which, initially inert, eventually give birth to a watchmaking mechanism. It's always so moving to see all these parts come to life in the form of a watch or clock.
Although I studied at the Lycée de Morteau in the 80s, it's only some fifteen years later that I'm back there, on the other side of the workbench, to pass on watchmaking knowledge and know-how. Once again, it's a pleasure to see such motivated young people!
Thierry, in addition to being a renowned watchmaking expert, is also Meilleur Ouvrier de France in watchmaking, a mission to pass on watchmaking excellence!

Antoine Tschumi, Swiss designer
Antoine is creative by nature, and loves designing desirable products that reflect the soul of a brand. He marvels at both the raw texture of an Impressionist painting and the delicacy of a sculpture.
An expert in watch design, he has breathed new life into a product perceived as outdated: the clock. A nod to the traditional hourglass in a vertical position, or in a horizontal position for a more modern version, Persée will take pride of place in your home.

Jean-Marie Desgrange, professor of watchmaking
"My first passion is playing jazz piano in a group.
I must admit that I'm a rather Cartesian person, and I've always been interested in mechanical science and technology, as well as astronomy. As a child, I loved creating and inventing, and I'm still eager to learn. I also enjoy renovating and repairing to give new life to obsolete objects. For all these reasons, I focused my studies on microtechnology and robotics and started working in research and development.
I was able to seize several opportunities that made my career evolve, towards teaching in micromechanical construction, then in watchmaking. Passionate about what is new and inaccessible for me, I was quickly seduced by watchmaking. I naturally passed on this passion to my son."
What a wealth of knowledge! From the computer-aided design of the movement to the transmission of watchmaking history in the book, watchmaking expert Jean-Marie has given his all to share his passion with you. Drawing on his expertise as a teacher and his knowledge of the difficulties encountered by his students, he is part of our team of experts who contribute to the development of the Maison Alcée watch movement so that it can be assembled by the uninitiated.
