A WATCH MOVEMENT

A mechanical watch movement designed and developed exclusively for Maison Alcée to be assembled by any curious person.

A manufactured
watch movement

The beating heart of Maison Alcée is the watch movement that powers the timepiece, Persée. This mechanical movement has been designed by a team of experts exclusively for Maison Alcée, so that it can come to life in the hands of all lovers of fine watchmaking. It embodies the fruit of meticulous work and many years of in-depth research.

The watch movement

Maison Alcée know-how

We have created a watch movement that has been developed by our House to be magnified by your hands. Our manufactured mechanical movement was designed in collaboration with Thierry Ducret, one of France's Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (Best Craftsmen), in order to rely on the excellence of our craftsmanship, and with Jean-Marie Desgranges, a watchmaking teacher from the prestigious Morteau school in the Jura region, for the educational dimension.

Thanks to this team, it was possible to pass on some of the watchmaking know-how and understanding of how mechanical movements work. A watch designer added a new aesthetic touch to a product that can be perceived as outdated: the clock. A nod to the traditional hourglass in the vertical position, or a more modern version in the horizontal position, Persée will take pride of place in your home.

"We need to break down this perception that certain skills are inaccessible. It's by taking them out of their inner circle that they'll find a new lease of life, and a wider public will see them in a new light."

Watch movement - Maison Alcee

You will assemble the entire mechanical movement, with only the regulator pre-assembled.

The Maison Alcée watch movement is similar to that of a wristwatch, but with larger dimensions. As a result, assembly is easier and the mechanical movement is easier to understand.

Whether you're an inveterate collector, an unrepentant enthusiast or an insatiable neophyte, for a moment everyone becomes the heir to age-old disciplines, and at last sees the pride of having made something with their own hands.

A baguette-type watch movement

Designed for you

The baguette movement is a marvel of horological engineering. The linear, baguette-like arrangement of the components reveals every interaction between the parts. This configuration offers a unique view of how the various components interact and synchronize to ensure the precise movement of the hands.

Enthusiasts will be able to understand the complexities of watchmaking mechanics, and to exchange ideas with other enthusiasts once they have a thorough understanding of their assembly.
